Student & Parent Information

Fair Share Payments:

Our Marching Band Fair Share amount this year is $200.  Please place checks IN AN ENVELOPE LABELED WITH THE STUDENT’S NAME and hand deliver them to Mr. Smith.  Any check without a name on it will be deposited to the general band fund, and will not go into the student’s account towards their Fair Share (so please be sure to label the check and/or envelope).

Cash payments will not be accepted!

If you are able to pay in full on Friday August 14th 2015 we will extend a discount of 10%.

For anyone preferring to pay in installments, here are the deadline dates:

First Payment- Friday August 28th 2015- $70

Second Payment- Thursday September 24th 2015- $70

Third& Final Payment- Thursday October 22 nd- $60

The normal marching band rehearsals are every Tuesday, Thursday, and a music rehearsal every other Monday. There will be a study period before every band rehearsal. There are exceptions to this rehearsal schedule and students will be notified of these two weeks prior to additional rehearsals.

Students will be given prior notice of all schedule changes – all events are posted.

Students will be required to attend two hour study session before every Tuesday and Thursday rehearsals.

Wind Ensemble

These will begin after marching season in January


Wind Ensemble audition requirements:

Wind Players


  1. First 4 lines of Part 2 no. 1 exercise
  2. Play any 5 scales of your choice with arpeggio ( 2 octaves highly recommended but not required)
  3. 16 measure of a prepared lyrical and technical excerpt
  4. Sight Reading




  1. 16 measure of prepared excerpt on any 2 percussion instruments
  2. Play 3 scales on any melodic percussion
  3. Sight Reading

Note positions are not final in this ensemble. Mr. Smith reserves the right to make any changes to the Wind Ensemble personal if he feels that any member is not committed. Auditions will start July 20, 2015 and end August 24, 2015. Please email me a time that is most convenient for you to come in and audition. For Wind players the part 2 exercise will be available in the band room next week.



Symphonic Band

Jazz Band

As needed before concerts.

Practices will be held every Tuesday and Thursday, at the school from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm during our season.  This is a time change over last year.



Booster Meetings:

Booster Meetings will be held every first Thursday of the month at 7:00 pm in the Band room or the Bistro area outside the band room, unless otherwise indicated ahead of time.  Locations may vary.  Parent attendance is necessary and VERY welcome!  We need as many parents helping as possible to support our band.
